Jack McElligott and Howard O. Roy
|
In the early
1950s, John E. (Jack) McElligott married Howard’s daughter,
Mildred (Mimi), and joined H. O. Roy Inc. as a general manager.
In 1973, Mimi McElligott became the president of H.O. Roy Inc.
and the name was changed to Macro Oil Company, Inc. (a combination
of McElligott and Roy). Jack McElligott headed Macro until his
death in 1984, when Mimi and three of her sons, Richard, William
(Bill) and Scott, assumed control and fueled a growth to where
Macro Oil is today.
Now, in its third generation of family ownership,
Macro has over 150 employees, an Emergency Fuel Management Division, a fleet fueling management company operation in 8 states,
one of the largest bulk oil and fuel distributors in the South
and a commercial transportation fleet. Macro's continued growth will enable us to better serve
our customers.
